Successful Information Evening

by Sue Pomeroy in Uncategorized

We were pleased with the number of people who came to the evening, especially as we were competing with Wimbledon.

As people arrived they were able to look at the display about the project and collect information from the various leaflets that were available. The tea and coffee was good too!!

We then talked about the projects and how each one was progressing. We also gave out information about our next visit. Our new project ‘Become a WVZP Champion was also launched here. To find out more about that programme go on to our front page, click on Donate and then click on Become a WVZP Champion. We really need people to come on board and be prepared to offer, for instance, £10 per month which can have Gift Aid added to it. This money will help us cover the costs of all the equipment and resources that we are currently sending out through Operation Sunshine. As we are growing we are having more things offered to us and currently we are struggling to be able to afford to send out these things that are so desperately needed.

We made awards to Declan from Flackwell Minors FC, who regularly donate kit and boots to us, to Jenny from Bucks New University who have donated kit that our Zambian Ambassadors and Interactors can wear when they go out into schools, to Neil from RSM UK who, I am sure you will remember, donated 50 laptops to enable the new ICT Lab to be completed for their Microsoft Showcase School launch and to Chris from Openwork Foundation who gave us a very generous grant to enable us to complete the Pre-School Room and the Lifeskills Room.

A very enjoyable and intersting everning, thank you to everyone who joined us.
